I’ve used FlixBus multiple times across Europe, and of all the trips I’ve taken, only two of the buses were more or less on time. On two occasions, I had to wait almost three hours for my bus, one from Kraków to Prague and another from Prague to Berlin. I was lucky enough to reschedule and take the next available bus on both occasions. This was fortunate because buses are often fully booked close to departure, leaving little chance to get on an alternative and forcing passengers to wait even longer. The extremely long delays seriously disrupted my carefully planned itinerary, even though I had left plenty of buffer time for possible disruptions. The customer experience with staff has mostly been poor. I’ve had several rude personal interactions. On a trip from Plitvice to Zagreb (Bus CHR933), a person affiliated with FlixBus responded to an admittedly unclear question of mine with “wtf” and had an unfriendly tone. I have a screenshot of the conversation, including the telephone number of the person, which matches the number listed on the FlixBus website, so I have proof they are affiliated with the company. On one trip from Ružomberok to Kraków (Route N976, departed approximately 11:08 instead of the scheduled 10:30), my assigned seat was taken by another passenger, so I moved. While talking to another passenger, the driver turned around and yelled at me to go back to my seat, even though it was occupied. I ended up in a seat without a power outlet, leaving my phone without charge. On another occasion, a staff member refused to let me board my original bus, scheduled to depart at 14:45, which arrived roughly three hours later after I had rescheduled. Both the original and rescheduled buses were line 060. I then had to wait for my rescheduled bus, which arrived at 17:20, 35 minutes later than scheduled and later than my original bus. This was frustrating because I had already been waiting nearly three hours in the sun at the designated FlixBus area in Prague. Since there were no updates on the app or website about the bus’s location, I could not risk leaving to get food or use the restroom. My new bus was only a few minutes later, but the driver still refused to let me board my original bus, which could have allowed me to reach my destination earlier. I was also told by a staff member that, since I am in the Czech Republic, I should learn to speak Czech.Definitely more affordable than most of the trains/flights, but be prepared for long delays.
