The admin staff are lovely and accommodating and the location of the flat is great. This is my third year booking and each experience has been good although this last one wasn't as great. First I didn't get the flat on Chiltern that I'd booked because of damage by tenants (absolutely not the fault of Viridian). I was down the street at Crawford. Not a big deal but the flat was really in need of some updates, for example, one whole strip of wallpaper was missing in the bedroom and there were water stains on the ones that were still up. Generally, thought perhaps the flat was vacant because it had been slated for an update and then they had to move me there because of the damage at Chiltern Street. Also had a terrible night with smoke alarms going off and no one else in the building doing anything about it. I ended up across the street at the Thai restaurant so I could use their phone (the 24/7 800 number doesn't work on Australian mobiles) and then sat outside in the cold for an hour or so waiting for the person to come and shut the alarm off - could not stay in the unit with the noise. Turned out to be some numpties in one unit who burned toast so badly the alarms went crazy and they opted to stay in their unit (despite me knocking on the door and then standing outside their door on the phone trying to turn the alarm down). And next day I get a message reminding ME to ventilate the unit and not mess with smoke alarms (initially I'd thought it was the battery which had been the case the year before)- not a thank you for running around for the better part of 2.5 hours to get hold of someone to come and manage it. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but added to general annoyance that people came into the unit when I wasn't there - apart from the expected Friday cleaning - and that I had someone outside the door at 8am on his hands and knees vacuuming on the one morning I didn't have appointments and had a chance to sleep in. All that said, I like this company's responsiveness and the flat location can't be beat.
