My contract with Flying Solo began in August 2023 and was set to expire in November 2023. Fortunately, I was able to extend my contract with them for an additional four months on a month-to-month basis.My time with them included showcasing my one-off and small-batch handmade purses in their 420 W. Broadway and 419 Broome Street locations in New York City. Additionally, I participated in a Pop-Up in October 2023 at the W. Broadway location. During my pop-up event, I was greeted by many of the lovely young ladies working the retail end and was provided personal assistance from Ella C. The event was beautiful, and the on-floor staff had excellent knowledge of my brand, which they shared with potential clients. In terms of brand placement and a global platform, I couldn't have asked for anything more. The group of independent designers at this company's foundation is what makes all the difference in the world. Flying Solo has created a unique niche and aesthetic for small designers (like myself), those who have reached full-on production levels, and everywhere in between.During my time with them, I was given detailed information, demographics, and sales data to help meet my measured outcome needs. I also received input on potential future design concepts that could help move my brand forward while maintaining its identity.Through The Copper Room, my handbags were featured in British Vogue and British Vanity Fair for three consecutive months, twice in Imirage Magazine, Moveux, and Weekly Style alongside heavy-hitting designers, France and British Style Cruze, IN BLVCK, GMARO, Zette, and ELLE, which also included a beautifully done video editorial, two editions of PUMP, Vigour, Rebel, Ukraine L'Officiel, and two editions of Glamour magazine. My brand was also featured in numerous Flying Solo video productions, and my first appearance in a New York City-SoHo Christmas window display.I haven't been in contract with them since the spring of this year (2024), but I have received three more emails sharing magazine placements and have been given access to those images via their shared drive.I'm happy to announce that I'll join them for Paris Fashion Week in September 2025. I am thrilled to participate in their event and add this experience to my brand narrative.I'm grateful that this team of visionaries is helping small brands like mine and the fashion industry by changing the game and its practices and moving toward a more sustainable model. I couldn't be more proud to be a small part of the body of their work.
