My contract with Flying Solo began in August 2023 and was set to expire in November 2023. Fortunately, I was able to extend my contract with them for an additional four months on a month-to-month basis.My time with them included showcasing my one-off and small-batch handmade purses in their 420 W. Broadway and 419 Broome Street locations in New York City. Additionally, I participated in a Pop-Up in October 2023 at the W. Broadway location. During my pop-up event, I was greeted by many of the lovely young ladies working the retail end and was provided personal assistance from Ella C. The event was beautiful, and the on-floor staff had excellent knowledge of my brand, which they shared with potential clients. In terms of brand placement and a global platform, I couldn't have asked for anything more. The group of independent designers at this company's foundation is what makes all the difference in the world. Flying Solo has created a unique niche and aesthetic for small designers (like myself), those who have reached full-on production levels, and everywhere in between.During my time with them, I was given detailed information, demographics, and sales data to help meet my measured outcome needs. I also received input on potential future design concepts that could help move my brand forward while maintaining its identity.Through The Copper Room, my handbags were featured in British Vogue and British Vanity Fair for three consecutive months, twice in Imirage Magazine, Moveux, and Weekly Style alongside heavy-hitting designers, France and British Style Cruze, IN BLVCK, GMARO, Zette, and ELLE, which also included a beautifully done video editorial, two editions of PUMP, Vigour, Rebel, Ukraine L'Officiel, and two editions of Glamour magazine. My brand was also featured in numerous Flying Solo video productions, and my first appearance in a New York City-SoHo Christmas window display.I haven't been in contract with them since the spring of this year (2024), but I have received three more emails sharing magazine placements and have been given access to those images via their shared drive.I'm happy to announce that I'll join them for Paris Fashion Week in September 2025. I am thrilled to participate in their event and add this experience to my brand narrative.I'm grateful that this team of visionaries is helping small brands like mine and the fashion industry by changing the game and its practices and moving toward a more sustainable model. I couldn't be more proud to be a small part of the body of their work.
I am so grateful and thankful for Flying Solo! They have been extremely helpful in many ways for my brand. They do an amazing job in consistent promotion, marketing and magazine placement, which is my favorite. I’ve enjoyed working with some of the amazing people there while being placed in both their Paris and New York locations. Our experience with Flying Solo at NYFW has been nothing short of amazing. The team is professional, accommodating, and their vast experience across fashion weeks in Paris, New York, and Milan ensures they know how to execute a standout runway show. Flying Solo and the Copper Room are the best! As an independent brand, we have had an amazing few years working with them and the PR exposure we have received is second to none! They work with a LOT of talented photographers, stylists etc so we receive worldwide exposure regularly! I couldn’t recommend them more!
Flying Solo is an amazing fashion incubator, as a new brand they have a great launch platform to get you out there and on ‘stage.’ We attended Paris fashion week with flying solo and it was a lot of fun, crazy chaotic as it should be.You get what they promise about number of looks and press - however the press is two articles with all brands (40+) that attended the show, where you get a mention with a few pictures. Would have been better and more professional if they made a dress codes for the guest attending PFW, while also secured seating for VIP guests (especially the front seatings which can be seen on all videos) and had invited industry guests as press, buyers, etc. and made time for mingling/having a mingling area.
