I am in another province (BC) for the winter and upon getting ready to leave my home province (MB), I spoke with my general practitioner about having my asthma medication/prescription delivered to a pharmacy out here, they advised me that it is not a problem. A month after being in BC, I needed a new inhaler, I contacted my GP and they informed me they are no longer allowed to send my prescription across provinces anymore and to go to the hospital (even though I wasn’t yet in an emergency situation) to get them to give me an inhaler. I did not feel comfortable with that so I contacted Livewell and they were able to send me an emergency prescription until I go back to my home province around Christmas time. I am very grateful they were able to help me out in a situation where it could have gotten serious and helped me prevent any medical emergency that may have arose.
