Hi everyone, if I can clear up a few points I'm a long suffering Tennant of stonewater and have had meny dealings with fortem. Over the years I have been lied to meny times and and missed appointments. To the extent of calling thair bluff thair very own telephone recordings proved without any shadow of a downt that thay had lied and tried to cover up with another lie. The housing association investigated this and a appolagy was made. So it would seem this lieing is ingrown in thair staff training right up through thair management structure. General maintenance is not paid for by the job. Let me explain. A set area with a certain amount of accommodation units each pay a set fee out of our rents, this is then grouped to gather as a set contract fee which firms bid for. So this fee is paid upfront before any work is carried out. This type of setup stinks, because no one from the housing is bothering to check the work for quality or value for money. I have raised the issue meny times about failed appointments, and recommended that a set fee should be put in place to compansate tenants £30 each time. But the housing association are not listening, because and I quote"thair worryed that no company will take on these type of contracts ". Advise if you are subjected to missed appointments, get details effedence group it togather and make a small claims application. It is your right to take such action, hit them where it hurts in the pocket. Also remember that it's your housing association that makes up these shoddy contracts so hit them as well with a complaint. The law on disrepair changed last year for your benefit, please use it.
