I bought a corner chaise from a furniture store, and the entire process has been extremely frustrating from start to finish. Initially, delivery took two months, with three delays during that time. When I finally picked up the couch from the shipping company, I discovered a large hole in the side, clearly caused by mishandling. I immediately contacted the store and provided all necessary photos and documentation. At first, they mentioned they would likely order a replacement and handle the claim with the shipper. However, after three months of waiting, I was informed that the shipping company denied the claim. The store then offered me two 'goodwill gesture' options: $100 compensation or a replacement couch, but I would need to return the damaged one and pay for the shipping of the new one. Both options were completely unreasonable. I expected a brand-new, undamaged couch. The shipping company's claim denial is their responsibility to resolve, not mine. When I declined, the store informed me that the supplier no longer had stock of the couch and offered a 30% refund, which was later increased to 50%. I rejected those offers as well. My expectation remains simple: replace the couch or provide a full refund and pick up the damaged one. Since they were unwilling to resolve the issue, I will be initiating a chargeback with my card provider. I strongly recommend avoiding this store. From the repeated shipping delays to their refusal to stand behind their product, they have shown a clear lack of commitment to their customers.
