I bought a corner chaise from a furniture store, and the entire process has been thoroughly frustrating from beginning to end. Initially, delivery took two months, with three separate delays during that time. When I finally went to collect the couch from the shipping company, I found a significant hole on the side, clearly caused by mishandling. I promptly contacted the store and shared all relevant photos and documentation. Initially, they indicated they would likely order a replacement and manage the claim with the shipper. However, after waiting three months, they informed me that the shipping company had denied the claim. The store then presented me with two 'goodwill gesture' options: $100 compensation, or a replacement couch, but I would need to return the damaged one and cover the shipping for the new one. Both options were utterly unreasonable. I bought a brand-new, intact couch, and that is what I expect to receive. The shipping company's claim denial is their issue to address, not mine. When I refused, the store informed me that the supplier no longer had stock of the couch but offered a 30% refund, which was later increased to 50%. I declined those offers as well. My expectation remains straightforward and fair: either replace the couch or provide a full refund and retrieve the damaged one. At this point, since they were unwilling to resolve the issue, I will be initiating a chargeback with my card provider. I strongly advise against doing business with this store. From the continuous shipping delays to the lack of accountability for their product, they have shown a clear unwillingness to do right by their customers.
