This has been the worst letting agency experience I’ve ever encountered. I rented a flat through them, and I can say with certainty that it was a nightmare. At the end of my tenancy, the landlord attempted to wrongfully deduct over £2,000 from my deposit with completely unfounded claims, including £1,500 for “lost rent” and unnecessary cleaning charges. Instead of protecting my interests or serving as a fair intermediary, the agency did nothing. They allowed the landlord to present these absurd claims and withheld part of my money for over 6 months, despite the charges being clearly baseless. I had to resolve this issue independently through a dispute resolution service, where the adjudicator reviewed all evidence and determined that the landlord was entitled to £0.00. However, the agency still retained £180 of my deposit without any justification, even after the final ruling. I am currently pursuing them to return what is rightfully mine. The communication was lacking, their management of the deposit was highly unprofessional, and as a tenant, I felt overlooked, unsupported, and disrespected throughout this ordeal. If you care about your time, money, and well-being, I strongly advise staying away from this agency. There are many other agencies out there that adhere to the law and treat tenants with respect. I would never recommend this agency to anyone.
