Smartbox is a scam! We got a gift box as a gift. Several months later, I tried to register the voucher on the Smartbox website and I could not. I wrote to customer service and I got an email reply in about 2 days. The representative asked me for "proof of purchase". How am I supposed to have a proof of purchase of a gift that I received? Essentially they make it impossible to use the voucher. The person who gifted us the hotel night spent her hard earn money in good faith hoping to give us a gift. But she did not realize that we will not be able to use it, ever. After several email exchanges, the customer service representative insisted that for activation they need "proof of purchase" i.e. receipt to make sure that it was not stolen. What a ridiculous argument! I am sure no one informed our gifter to make sure she also gives us her receipt because otherwise we will not be able to use her "gift box". Please DO NOT Buy Smartbox. This company is a big scam!
