Review Time
Honestly freecords is a blessing for me and my career I've been using freecords for a year now and I can confidently say they deserve 10/10 stars for excellent service ,they are truthful, reliable and don't force you to pay I only rated dem 5 stars cuz that's the highest rating If I could I'd rated dem a 100 stars Keep up the good work freecordsFrom Yung_rotex I'll say a big thank you for everything you do for small creators like me
I tried to change distributor using the EXACT SAME metadata and files. I waited over 2 weeks for my songs to be reviewed, only for them to be automatically flagged as copyrighted (by my own label, from the previous distributor). I tried talking to support and they were rude, suspended my account instead of trying to guide me to a solution. Then they had the audacity to claim they blocked my account for suspicion of fraud (even though I own my music) and found an excuse over my artist name "S" (which had always been accepted with my old distributor and on all major platforms)You get what you pay for I guess... in this case, absolute zero.
Hello Freecords Support Team,My account was recently suspended, and I understand that this limits my access to the platform. However, I kindly request that all my pending earnings be reviewed and released to me.I believe I am still entitled to the earnings generated before the suspension, and I would appreciate your assistance in making those funds available. If you need any additional information or verification from me, please let me know and I will provide it immediately.Thank you for your time and understanding.I look forward to your response.Best regards,[Oba Voice]
Joined freecords. I sent my track in over a month ago. No progress. I’m still not sure if it’s gone live. I sent at least 8 emails to,ask them to take it down so I could reload a remastered version. No reply. I’d just like some feedback….but I’ve had none! . So this 11 day process seems never ending, I’d love to hear from free cords regarding this.
The uploading process was REALLY smooth and straightforward, compared to another distributor I tried to use. I am just starting my music career and uploaded my first ever track, it’s not been moderated yet or distributed, but I am so excited and can’t wait but sometimes you just gotta wait! Update: my song got approved REALLY fast! Now just waiting for it to go live!
I tried to give Freecords music distributor a chance because it was free, so I decided to release a song through them. It took about 7 days just to get approved. On their website, it says that the whole process of releasing a song to “major platforms” takes 7 to 11 days. But after a week of my song being approved (14 days total since submission), it was only released on a platform called Boomplay, not on the “major platforms” they promised.I contacted them about it, but they kept sending the same automated reply saying my release was delayed because of a “website upgrade.” I waited a whole month and my song was still not out on any major platforms. I contacted them multiple times again but they kept repeating the same excuse.Their website relaunch was on October 1, and they had said all songs would be released before the upgrade. But even after the relaunch, my song was still not out. I emailed them again and waited 3 days with no reply. I emailed again and waited another week, still no reply. At that point, I was so frustrated that I decided to take my song down and switch to another distributor. But the takedown option on their website doesn’t even work. I tried emailing them about taking my song down too, but they ignored that as well.I will never recommend using this distributor. Even though it’s free, it’s not worth it. I don’t know if they’re stealing songs or just completely unreliable, but they don’t release your music on any major platforms like Spotify or Apple Music as promised, and they won’t even let you take it down to use a different distributor instead. Please stay away from this distributor.Edit:This is what they responded with on the same review I left on their Google page:"I wonder if you would write such a detailed review if you paid for the service. Probably not, you can only write this garbage because we’re free. So yes, do stay away, we have nothing to offer personas like you." (they have edited their response on my google review to something else since i updated this review on trust pilot)My response to that:I wrote this detailed review because you refused to release my song on the major platforms you promised. When I decided to switch distributors and take my song down, you wouldn’t even let me remove it. Now you expect me to pay just to take down my own track? That’s a scam. Why do you advertise yourself as a “free distributor better than paid ones,” and publish long articles on your website saying, “here’s why paying distributors makes no sense,” yet now you want me to pay? I can’t stop laughing at that.(They replied to my Google review within a few hours. I just wish they would reply to their artists emails that fast instead of ignoring them most of the time. That would actually improve their service and maybe stop the one star reviews too but of course they won't.)
In my experience, the negative reviews about Freecords are justified. They failed to distribute my track within the promised timeframe, blaming delays on a new app. Yet the song later appeared on Boomplay without my knowledge — and even credited to the wrong artist. *It's worth pointing out that Boomplay have since removed the song, but only because informed them that they no longer had the right to host it.When I asked for my account and data to be deleted (over a month ago), Freecords acknowledged the request but only offered deletion after five weeks, AFTER I had posted a negative review here on Trustpilot — and only if I provided a selfie with my ID. That’s completely unnecessary under GDPR, especially since I wrote from the same registered email address.Their explanations about “title collisions” and “SEO abuse mechanisms” are irrelevant excuses — this is common in music distribution and never justifies withholding a deletion request.Due to their shoddy handling of my case, I’ve begun filing formal GDPR and copyright complaints.Avoid Freecords at all costs.(And for clarity: I’ve retained all correspondence and screenshots of their public response.)
I published my music through the platform about a year ago, and received my first payment of €4.39. However, since then, I haven't noticed any updates to my balance, even though the song continues to be played on digital platforms.I would like to know if:1. My streaming statistics are still being counted normally;2. There is a problem with the transfer of funds;3. How often the balance is updated on the dashboard.Thank you in advance for your attention, and I look forward to hearing from you.
