Review Time
Years ago, I ordered the FTF full course. I joined the FTF community on Facebook hoping to share tips and look for work. Unfortunately, instead, I found members who spouted misogynistic things like “women aren’t as good as men at filmmaking because they are too busy competing for male attention, so FTF shouldn’t hire any.” When asking support to perhaps remove this or stand up for women, they could do nothing as per Parker’s orders. Instead, Parker himself posted that everyone should police themselves (while deleting comments that didn’t agree with him) ensuring that the community would be neither safe nor welcoming for women. I could not get a refund, so I have tried many times to go back and watch the courses because I do think there is good information in there. But every time I try I feel a stress knot in my stomach because of that experience with Parker. I wish I hadn’t purchased FTF. I wish I hadn’t joined the Facebook community, but more than that, I wish that they understood what all social media platforms do: that when you let people “police themselves” then the loudest, worst parts of the majority become their face, and failing to stand up for women as filmmakers will never be okay.
I have only just recently purchased the Full Time Filmmaker courses along with Course Creator Pro, but have been following the team on social media and youtube for years. Every time Stockton or Parker popped up in my feed I watched the video all they way through (even if I'd already seen it), DM'ed the key words to get all the freebies, and debated actually buying the courses. When I finally did pull the string, I immediately knew it was worth it. I'm a recent college graduate with a BFA in Film and I have no doubt this course is of higher quality than my studies were. The team here actually cares about you as a person and will make sure your needs are met and will check in to see how you're doing. They aren't just in it to sell their product and leave you to fend for yourself. The community they have built is also spectacular, having access to the Facebook chat and communicating, networking, and feeding off of others who are in the same position as you or have been where you are, provides a comfort level for anyone. If you're on the fence about purchasing it, make the jump. You will not regret it.
Every single on these videos is clear instructions on how to improve your filmaking game. I am new and thought i would be overwhelmed but parker makes it very clear. I heavily enjoyed this course and would recommend everyone to try it out. Its a great investment and parker practices what he preach.
