I ordered from G-Star for the second time — and I’m finally disappointed.
My first order was jeans. The label said size 32, but in reality they fit more like a 33. It was tolerable — I ended up using them as cycling/work jeans, so I let it slide.
For my second order, I bought jeans and a GA-1 jacket (both discounted to $100 each, while the jacket is supposedly priced around $300 at full price).
Jeans
This time the situation was the opposite — they came smaller than expected.
So the first time they were bigger, the second time smaller.
There is zero consistency. The sizing feels like a lottery.
GA-1 Jacket
On the website, the model (chest 102 cm, height around 185 cm) wears size L, and it fits him neatly, slightly short — exactly the style I was looking for.
I ordered size M.
What I received feels closer to an XL( fat guy);:
significantly wider,
longer in the body,
longer sleeves.
This is supposed to be a light autumn/spring jacket, yet you could easily wear another jacket underneath — that’s how oversized it is.
The color on the website photos looks slightly aged/stylized, while in reality it’s just plain grey. Not a major issue, but still misleading.
It gives the impression that the brand uses standard patterns and only slightly adjusts measurements between sizes, while the overall fit remains oversized.
Returning the item isn’t practical, as I ordered through a US forwarding service. Shipping it back would make no financial sense.
Conclusion
I do not consider G-Star a premium brand.
The price does not match the quality control or sizing consistency.
It feels like mass production with branded rivets and logos — but without proper sizing standards or honest presentation of fit.
For this price, similar quality can be found elsewhere with more predictable sizing.
The jacket will stay as a reminder that I won’t be shopping with this brand again.
