I bought a key through this website as a way to get a game I wanted cheap. I misread it being a Steam Key when it was really an Xbox key, but my laptop was still able to play it. I beat the game within the month that I got it, and forgot about it.
But then I noticed in my email and my bank statement that I was charged for $5.95. For something called GAMIVO SMART, their monthly subscription service for more game deals. I used the website to buy a game ONCE, but didn't sign-up at all for their service. Apparently because of my email and bank info to buy the key, they used it to charge me. I know I didn't have an account because when I tried to "change password" the retrival didn't work (as it would have been sent to my email). Tellingly enough, when I did set up an account, they already had my info and invoice of the game and subscription service.
It took like twenty minutes to find a way to cancel GAMIVO SMART because they hid the button so small and transparent with the rest of the webpage, and kept trying to convince me to stay. I also went to them to ask for a refund of the month of SMART because I never used it, nor was I let aware that I had been charged for it. I could have apparently contested this within 24 hours of this first coming up, but I didn't even bother to make a free account when buying their game key. They thought to bill me for a service I didn't ask for, and that made me mad.
I eventually did get a refund, but only by directly going to my bank to force a charge back. Funny how quick GAMIVO was to change their tune when I went over their head, but really, trying to sneak a monthly fee on people that just want a one-and-done transaction is the epitome of greed. Many people like me might have been caught unaware of being charged for something they bought only ONCE.
How can I trust Gamivo for any future service when they pull dirty tricks like this? Never, that's how.
