Initially, the loan originator, Dani, was kind and friendly but it was just an act. In the end she rolled her eyes at questions and provided wrong or deceptive information. Hell, Dani is nothing but a producer no wonder she provides misleading facts. Also, the wrong dates and times for closing not once, but, twice. I get better help from the grocery store clerk.Dani did not even show up for the closing. I did not realize how bad the loan was until closing and she was not there. Only my Realtor and Sue from the title company were present. They tried to answer my questions but I did not realize the loan payment would not be recalculated by pre-paying the principle until closing. Actually, I don't recall seeing this particular term until the closing. Dani, my loan producer, previously screwed up my plans and I was in a desperate situation.Due to her terrible communication my moving plans were completely screwed up costing me frustration, time and money. I will not add up the cost for unnecessary hotel rooms and storage. I was moving from TX to NM, a mere 7 hour drive, and 400 miles with a cat and dog in a van. In the middle of HOT summer. Dani was well versed on my plans and situation. I assumed she would give a damn.Originally, my closing was set for a Tuesday and the Friday before I got notice the appraisal was complete. This notice said "you're ready to close". Thus, I rented a non-refundable motel and drove to Alamogordo NM with my belongings, cat and dog. However, unknown to me the closing was canceled before I left Texas.Eventually, Dani called with a new closing date and time. This time she got the time wrong it was 11am and not 2pm. Fortunately, my realtor called that morning and we happened to discuss the meeting time. Again, I almost missed the closing due to my loan producer. Moreover, she did not show and I was left questioning terms of the contract such as repayment penalties, etc. After Dani screws you get ready for Gateway. The terms of the loan are blatantly one-sided and designed to keep you in debt. For example, if you pay down the principal there will be no reduction in the monthly payment whatsoever and forever more. Gateway Mortgage insures there is NO_WAY_OUT of the loan. The goal of "Gateway" is to keep you under massive debt to service their needs with no way out and LOCK-THE-GATE to your future. They purposefully keep the up front cost low to roll everything into the final note that cannot be modified if you pay down the balance/principal. This type of predatory loan is handsome in the secondary markets. However, the closing costs are a major rip off nonetheless. Basically, you are walking into the Devils Den full of tricks.WARNING....the monthly payment will NOT EVER be recalculated if you pay down the principle. The reason? To make you a slave to Gateway.. I realized this too late and, Dani, my loan producer, was not present to assist me. Gateway does not make mistakes when it comes to their money. Unfortunately, mistakes and tricks for their gullible customers are acceptable. This review is purely based on my personal experience. These words are Constitutionally protected by the 1st amendment. Please avoid this predatory lender like the plague it is. Run fast and run hard. Don't look back. Be fing careful with Gateway Mortgage. Finally, Gateway will open the floodgate to financial ruin. That's all and nothing more. Gateway must be exposed as a pathetic predator with dismal customer service to boot. Nothing good will ever be achieved through Gateway Mortgage in Alamogordo NM. Thank you.
