If I could put zero stars I would. We had to pay about $450 to get out of a contract after a year, then it took over 2 weeks to port our numbers over to the new carrier because of two errors that GCI made. During that time we had no cell service from either carrier. At that time when we had no service, my husband was applying for jobs and couldn’t receive calls from prospective employers, and my job requires on-call hours, which I couldn’t do in that time with no service, so my coworkers had to do extra for me. There were more headaches, too, (and a surprise bill after we were told we had paid in full) but that’s a little taste of our experience. The only reason we had gotten GCI to begin with is because we were moving to a place that did not have any other service. . . If we were to do it again, we would not get GCI even though there were no other carriers. It would have been better to have to make WiFi calls and get a satellite phone for emergencies rather than go through the headache and cost of dealing with GCI.
