GEICO has consistently failed to provide basic customer service and proper communication.
As a long-term customer paying very high premiums (I’ve paid $920 monthly!), I expected a minimum level of respect, clarity, and follow-through. Instead, I have experienced repeated lack of communication, delays, and poor handling of my concerns.
In my current claim specifically, my vehicle was declared a total loss over a week ago by the body shop, and GEICO never contacted me directly about it. I received no call, no update, and no explanation. I had to find out through a third party, which is completely unacceptable.
Throughout this process, I have also felt dismissed and not taken seriously when trying to get answers. There has been no urgency, no clear guidance, and no accountability from the representatives handling my case.
This situation affected my ability to work and manage my daily responsibilities, yet there was no proactive communication or meaningful support provided.
For the cost of the premiums charged, the level of service during an actual claim is not acceptable. Customers should not have to chase their own insurance company for basic updates and information.
Based on this experience, I CANNOT recommend GEICO for claim handling or customer support.
