Filed a claim after a fender bender that was clearly not my fault and what followed was six weeks of the most exhausting back and forth I've ever experienced with any company. Every time I called I got a different representative who had apparently never looked at my file, forcing me to re-explain the entire situation from scratch each time. Eventually got a settlement that didn't even cover my repair costs and was told to take it or leave it. Never again.

Renewed my policy this year and my premium jumped nearly four hundred dollars with a perfectly clean driving record and no claims in over three years. Called to ask what happened and was given a vague answer about "market adjustments in my area" that explained absolutely nothing. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for forty minutes before giving up. Switched to a competitor the same week and got better coverage for less than my original Geico rate.

I had a very negative experience with GEICO.
I have been a GEICO customer for 20 years and have never experienced such poor and frustrating service. I was recently involved in a car accident when another driver hit my car on the passenger side, damaging and bending the front passenger door.
To get assistance from GEICO, I called the number printed on my ID card (1-800-841-3000), but it was nearly impossible to reach a live person. The automated system kept redirecting me from one option to another, constantly pushing me to use the GEICO mobile app or my online account to submit a claim. After 20 minutes, I gave up.
I then logged into my GEICO online account and submitted a claim. I was told that a GEICO agent would call me to obtain details and provide guidance, but no one ever contacted me.
I called GEICO again, but once I entered my claim number, the automated system again pushed me to use the mobile app or online account to “review” my claim instead of allowing me to speak with a representative.
The driver who hit my car was insured by State Farm. An agent from State Farm called me after some time, asked detailed questions, and eventually denied liability for the damage. Meanwhile, no one from GEICO ever called me. I called GEICO several times over the next few days. Each time, it took about 30 minutes to reach a live person. The only way to speak with someone was to select the option to “submit a new claim.” If you try to discuss an existing claim, GEICO does not make it easy to reach a live representative.
The only help I received from GEICO was scheduling a repair appointment for my car, and even that happened only after multiple calls and a significant amount of time spent trying to reach a real person.
I can’t imagine what would have happened if I had tried to call GEICO immediately after the accident — my phone battery would likely have died before I reached anyone.
I am now considering switching to a different insurance company. Sometimes it’s better to pay a little more and receive real support when you actually need it.

Worst service ever. Have been over 20 years with and today I was in California, my vechicle won’t start, called several times for road assistance but no help at all. Waited over one hour for help, no one came and called. Finally someone helped me for jump start and that’s how I came home. Reported the situation to the manager and didn’t go no where. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to have that company. They are just the rip of company. I have been paying for my road assistance but no help when I needed the help.

Worst insurance I've ever had. Previously had progressive insurance and switched over to Geico because I was referred by a friend that it was cheaper but save your money . They will fail to notify your state DMV about your insurance policy and your state will suspend your DL and you will have to pay a fee. I'm some cases you'll be on your way to work and get pulled over and have your vehicle towed and pay all the expenses yourself and they will tell you they won't cover you because it's not their fault when it's clearly on their end. My recommendation pay the extra money and go with the better insurance.

I have had Geico for both my personal home & auto for 5-6 years. They have made 2 major errors, one that has cost me a little over $1K and the other is too scary to think about. On my home insurance, they accidentally insured the wrong home. After a long call providing details on my home, and signing off on the correct home, I received mailed policy documents to my home, for another home with a completely different address (one I didn't own that was on my driver's license at the time). Thank God I opened up the packet and caught it.

The other error was on my auto policy. When calling to inquire about my deductible, it somehow got filed as a claim (even though nothing was claimed or paid out). The unfounded claim went unnoticed (but my rate went up several hundred over two years) until I got a quote from another company and it came up on my record. Geico apologized for the error but was unable to remove the claim, and it has taken correcting it with Lexus Nexus to get it off my record, so it's no longer a barrier in my getting a market-rate policy. What a mess.

Very pleased with the service received after an accident

We have been quite satisfied with the service. My husband had an incident on the highway when a tire from a semi unexpectedly came off and he accidentally ran over it. It was a frightening experience and caused some damage to our vehicle. However, the support team was fantastic in getting everything repaired quickly. Although our premiums did increase slightly, it wasn't significant, and I appreciated that we didn't have to struggle to get our vehicle fixed, which would have cost us thousands out of pocket. A few months later, they also replaced my windshield after a rock hit it, and the process was very straightforward. Overall, I have been extremely happy with their service.

Disappointed After Years of Loyalty

I have been a customer for many years and was happy until my bill started increasing significantly. While the economy is often blamed, it seems they can afford to pay for commercials featuring two football players. I'm concerned that my bill will continue to rise to cover advertising costs. I've never had accidents or tickets, so it's frustrating to see such high charges. Additionally, the customer service is unhelpful. If I could rate this a zero, I would.

Untrustworthy and Deceptive Practices

This service is completely untrustworthy, as they provided misleading information regarding the car insurance quote. When I received the letter, the prices were outrageous for just 10 days of coverage, and I now owe almost 600 dollars next month. The monthly quote they provided was also inaccurate, and reaching their support team is a nightmare; expect to be on hold for an hour. I've faced three major issues with them: first, they listed the wrong VIN on my policy, then they incorrectly dated the insurance to start in March 2026 instead of December 27th, 2025. Lastly, the monthly cost was higher than initially quoted. I'm appalled by their dishonesty and greed. If you need to drop a car, expect to pay a hefty fee. I'm determined to take action because it's unreasonable to pay what I can't afford, especially when being misled.

Disappointing Experience with Insurance Support

I have been insured for a little over a year, having previously chosen this service as well after a long break without needing coverage. Initially, I felt confident in my decision after purchasing my vehicle and was pleased with what was offered. However, that confidence vanished following an accident on November 7, where I was not at fault; the other driver had serious issues like a DWI and a suspended license. Trusting the service, I filed through my own insurance expecting support. Regrettably, my experience was far from satisfactory. I was assigned an adjuster I never managed to contact, and to this day, I have not heard from the assigned representative. My first attempt to file a claim online was thwarted by a system error. When I sought assistance, I was directed to resubmit the claim, leading to duplicate entries and a chaotic situation. Eventually, I spoke with a helpful representative who clarified the duplication issue and allowed me to take my car to my preferred repair shop. However, my follow-up call revealed a different story with a representative who was condescending and dismissive, prompting me to request a supervisor. A supervisor called me at an inconvenient hour, and after returning the call and leaving a voicemail, I received no follow-up. I later spoke with another individual who kept assuring me my adjuster was busy and would reach out, but that never happened. To complicate matters, the adjuster from the other driver’s insurance also faced difficulties contacting my insurance adjuster. He was redirected to someone who could only read notes, offering no real help. This entire process has been unnecessarily stressful. Despite being not at fault, I received little meaningful support in managing my claim. The only truly helpful person was someone I spoke with recently, who finally listened and assisted me. Given this experience, I plan to switch to a new insurance provider soon, as I cannot remain with a service that fails to value customer support and communication, especially when the customer is blameless. I cannot recommend this service if you need help with a claim; be ready for a frustrating experience.
