If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Buying travel insurance with Generali was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. I booked a surprise trip, paid extra for their “Travel Protection,” thinking I was being smart and responsible. My partner got seriously sick, and I had to cancel. That’s exactly why I got the insurance in the first place — but guess what? Generali doesn’t actually PAY.Instead of a refund, Spirit Airlines kept more than 50% of the money and gave me the rest as a travel credit. When I contacted Generali to file a claim, their answer was basically: “Wait 12 months. If you don’t use the credit, then maybe — just maybe — we’ll consider reimbursing you.”And not just that — to get that “maybe,” I have to document every detail, explain the situation over and over, submit proof from the airline, confirmation from doctors, and probably a blood sample too. All for something I already paid to be protected against.Bottom line: They delay, deflect, and make it nearly impossible to get reimbursed. This is not protection — it’s a scam disguised as peace of mind. Don’t waste your money. Don’t fall for the fake security. Use another provider or skip insurance altogether — it’s the same outcome.Avoid Generali at all costs.UPDATE:As of today 04/08/2025 The Insurance just told me that I don’t even have to wait for a reimbursement, because the reason why I had to cancel, is not insured! This proofs my point from the beginning. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY BY GETTING A GENERALI INSURANCE!!!
