My amalgam filling came out while flossing after approximately fourteen years. I contacted Genix (Whitley Bay) with the hope that they might be able to arrange an appointment within the next month… I was seen within 48 hours to make an assessment. As I was not experiencing any pain, I was scheduled significantly quicker than I anticipated, and because the dentist was Dr Anil, I felt more than confident knowing that my health was in the best possible hands.
I attended my appointment with Dr Anil and Abby (dental nurse) with more than a couple of questions regarding best practices for maintaining the best long-term prognosis for my oral care. Dr Anil had previously recommended I purchase an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor, as I tended to brush too hard, and it was the best piece of advice I could have been given. No matter how inquisitive I was, Dr Anil was more than patient, and I never felt rushed; he offered advice and guidance at every turn.
The investigative X-rays taken previously by Dr Anil came back fine, so it was a case of replacing the filling. I had previously informed Dr Anil of my fear of dentists when we first met, and he clearly remembered. His calm demeanour, professionalism and explanation of the procedure completely put me at ease. Even as both Dr Anil and Abby were working, the compassion and regular checks to ensure my psychological well-being were maintained throughout the procedure were incredible. Even as the filling was placed, constant checks were done to ensure the filling did not interfere with my bite.
I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder, so I find social interactions a struggle, along with my self-confidence, but at the end of the procedure, Dr Anil passed me a mirror, and I immediately noticed the composite filling that blended in beautifully with the natural structure and colour of my tooth. I very nearly became overwhelmed with joy. I simply cannot stress just how appreciative I am. I have visited dentists in London, Essex and Whitley Bay, and after a very negative, traumatic childhood experience, there is no other dentist as incredible and professional as Dr Anil, the team and Genix. The patient-centred approach to treatment and inclusivity, while maintaining dignity and compassion, is second to none.
If you are new to the area, Genix is, in my humble opinion, the pinnacle of a dental practice. Because of the positive reinforcement and experiences I have had, I have convinced my wife to make an appointment and constantly recommend Genix, and more specifically, Dr Anil, to my friends and family.
