I booked a room through a search engine and was promised a full refund if I canceled within three weeks. The next day, I realized the price was much higher than other options and included excessive fees. I canceled immediately, and the confirmation only mentioned contacting the hotel for cancellations, which I did. Two weeks later, my card was declined, and I found out they hadn't processed my refund! When I called the hotel, they confirmed the cancellation but told me to contact the third-party service, which turned out to be a well-known travel site. After an hour on hold, I was redirected to another partner. This was incredibly frustrating as my confirmation didn't mention these companies. I finally spoke to an unfriendly representative who told me to email for a refund, but the email address was undeliverable! I'm extremely frustrated, and when I called back, they hung up on me. This is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of this service.
