They are generally great when you sign up provided you pay attention to how varied the pricing can be. The service and responsiveness is very good, as is the information regarding usage on their website. However, once you have been signed up with them, a lot of of their electricity plans seem like a good deal, unless you go over or under the target kilowatt hour that they set. For example, it might be $.12 per kilowatt hour at over 2000 kWh, but it jumps to $.18 per kilowatt hour if he use under 2000 kWh. That’s because you get $125 credit for using over 2000 kWh. The whole pricing scheme just seems like a scam to overcharge their unsophisticated customers. I was a very happy customer and would’ve stayed with them, but I would’ve been totally hosed and some of the Spring and Fall months when my usage drops. It’s a shame that they bait you with a good deal as a new customer and then force you to switch. Although, this practice is not atypical in the North Texas electric market.
