My whole process thru renewing my service provider was abysmal. Going thru the comparison process and being misled over the REAL RATES is so annoying. My experience as a new customer was not very customer friendly or welcoming. I signed thinking this would be a good company and now I am so grateful I did not sign up for two years, what a disaster that would be! I mailed my check on 9/13 for my first bill for 15 days service $210, due on 9/18 absurd charge compared to my previous service New Power! Three days before the due date I started receiving daily emails threatening disconnect warnings and late charges as my account would shortly become past due!!!! I ignored those emails for the first two days thinking this was rather threatening for a new customer whose credit is in the excellent range! On the third day I decided I should call the company to let them know that I had mailed my check and provided the check number and date it was mailed, 9/13 5 days before my due date! The CS representative immediately informed me that USPS mail can take up to ten days to be received and if it was not received by 9/18, it would be late and would incur a late fee. Called USPS to confirm an expected delivery timeframe and was informed within 3-5 days, from Corpus Christi to the payment center in Dallas. Still the harassing emails continued and so I called CS every day to check and was told there was nothing entered into the system every time. When I suggested that possibly you have my payment (per USPS mail clerk) and it has not been processed and my accounted credited. Finally, CS accepted my explanation and agreed to waive the late charges. Makes me wonder perhaps their receipts process is inefficient and provides a way to garner extra revenue thru late charges. Yes, I am cynical after receiving harassing emails for days before the bill is past due! I have now set up online bill pay and that brings me to another bone of contention. Firstly, the customer has no option to select a payment date. If you decide to pay the bill early that is the day the money is drafted from your account...seriously GEXA can't figure out a way to allow customers to choose the payment date! Their Make a Payment message is as follows...'LET'S GET THIS OVER QUICKLY" Really!Secondly, there is not a print button to show your confirmation of payment, so the customer has to go to their computer option to print out the confirmation. No follow up email thanking customer, like my other online payors send.I'll leave it up to you to form an opinion of the business practices of this company, but I am not impressed!
