I had a very bad experience with godaddy and specifically their .de domain offering.
First annoying thing that happened is that they don't support dnssec, which in my opinion is a basic feature for a domain registrar, which godaddy does not offer for .de domains for YEARS, unsure how such a big company does not have such feature.
Second bad thing that happened was domain renewal. One of my credit cards expired and I got a notification about it, so I replaced it with my new valid credit card, but I just kept getting emails about a wrong credit card. The UI was completely bugged out and I could only resolve it by disabling auto renewal and re-entering the same credit card.
I got pretty upset by this, so decided to transfer the domain - doesn't work via the UI. I was told to call someone, wasn't resolvable via support chat and I don't understand why the hell that should be necessary. But .de domains have a safety net when you delete them, denic (the registry) will send you the auth code for transferring. So I thought it can't get much worse, so went ahead and deleted the domain.
There was a two month waiting period, once that passed, I realised godaddy has only deleted the domain internally in there systems but not with the registry and got confirmed that when calling them. So my only option was to start the domain transfer via authinfo2, which is denic way of transferring domains without the registrar and godaddy. This cost me 24€ but well worth getting away from GoDaddy.
So to summarise GoDaddy dnssec for .de domains does not work, auto-renewal is broken and you can't even delete your own domains.
