Very mixed bag with this company and if it weren’t for the insane prices they’d be worth trying. We’ve been GoldBelly customers a few times over the years and each of the last couple of times we’ve been left disappointed; of course they can’t necessarily control the quality are amount of food you ultimately receive, but they do control the customer experience and the prices, and that’s what makes it so painful. If you’re spending $130 for a cake, it should truly be able to serve the dozen or more people they claim it will, & be of the same quality and taste that you’ve experienced in the past. That is not always the case with GoldBelly.com. While I note their seemingly very friendly replies to many of the negative reviews here, my one experience with attempting to deal with their customer service showed that they are aggressive about refunding are providing credit. That doesn’t mean they don’t, just that in my own experience it was difficult and I wasn’t willing to argue with him over it. I think the service is meant for those who are more impressed by being able to say they ordered barbecue from a semi-famous restaurant 2000 miles away, who don’t really care as much about the quality and can easily take the financial hit of not getting exactly what they anticipated. If you’re budget conscious at all however, Gold Belly may not be worth the risk.
