Absolutely terrible experience with Goldcar at Barcelona Airport.
I signed rental contract 28756527 and immediately noticed a discrepancy between the Rental Group (B2) and the Tariff Group (CC). I had booked a TT category vehicle but was being given a Pinky category vehicle. When I pointed this out, the staff simply dismissed my concerns.
Because the issue was not addressed, I requested the official Hoja de Reclamaciones and submitted it. After filing the complaint I went to the parking area to inspect the car. The vehicle already had 14 damages recorded, and I discovered even more that were not marked.
When I went to the parking cabin to report the additional damage before taking the car, a manager arrived, asked the employee “Is this the guy?”, and immediately said he would cancel my contract without even speaking to me first.
He then accused me of previously damaging vehicles and not paying for it, yet provided no evidence and I have never received any damage report from this company. I even called customer service three times while standing at the desk and received no help.
The situation escalated to the point where I had to bring the police myself. The police stated they could not intervene because it was a private company and remained present while the manager cancelled the contract.
Contract cancelled immediately after submitting a consumer complaint, false accusations made without evidence, and completely disrespectful treatment.
Do yourself a favour and stay away from this company. Honestly, it is not even worth approaching them for a glass of water. A complete waste of time, energy and money.
