I signed up for a GoodChop subscription for my kids and was charged as expected. Then, the very next day, I was hit with an additional charge for an “upgrade” that I had already completed the day before.
When I called customer service, the representative admitted, “Yes, that sometimes happens,” which is completely unacceptable. This was not a processing error — it was a classic bait-and-switch. What was presented as a $219 purchase suddenly became $240, apparently hoping the extra charge would go unnoticed.
The issue was escalated to a supervisor, who could not provide any explanation at all. That lack of accountability says everything.
In the end, their attempt to sneak through a ~$20 increase cost them $1,600 in future subscriptions. Thankfully, Omaha has never pulled anything like this, and I’ll be sticking with them moving forward.
