I have used Grammarly for several articles. It used to be straight forward when I opened it and could see the pop up where the errors were listed. Now, after the AI changes, I can see the errors and there is no list. The only option is to scroll and find them. I have shifted from Grammarly to Langauge Tools. Grammarly started well but complicating things made me change to new sites. I don't need complicated things or to be aski g AI things I need to do personally. Let them enjoy their tool on their own.
I joined a free 7 day trial today they said I could cancel anytime. I just tried but they want an absurd amount of money to cancel. Nothing was mentioned about a cancellation fee. I am 73 years old and joined on a whim! I simply wish to cancel. HELP PLEASE
Honestly, I'm so frustrated! I've used Grammarly for a few months now and every four weeks or so it just loses my work! There's been a new layout set up so it's simply lost work I've been working on for three days now! Fuming! And now it's decided to go onto any document I'm typing and put in suggestive corrections when I haven't asked it to which is really distracting when I'm trying to write something like this. Hate it so far, glad I haven't paid for the full one.
I signed up for an annual subscription and did not end up using the subscription at all four months later I cancelled the subscription and requested a refund or even a partial refund for the eight months that I left that I will not be using the Service instead of providing even a partial refund, Grammarly said that the subscription is cancelled and they are keeping the full annual subscription fee that I have paid and and I will not be using. This is complete unethical operations from a company and I would advise anyone even slightly considering the annual subscription with this company to reconsider.
The spellcheck feature is supposed to assist with writing, but it only functions correctly about 1 out of 6 times. This is its main purpose, and it often falls short. My experience was specifically with the service in question; however, it seems to work well in other platforms. It would be beneficial if it also functioned effectively in presentation software.
I find it frustrating due to my expressive dyslexia, which leads to my words being interpreted differently than intended. The service does a decent job of recognizing some grammar during speech-to-text, but it often misinterprets words, like turning 'shoals of fish' into 'shows.' This is particularly annoying when I'm in a hurry and need to type, as my fingers struggle with the keyboard, so I rely on speech-to-text. Unfortunately, it sometimes results in errors that I don't catch until after I've sent the message, leading to misunderstandings. I wish improvements could be made in this area. I can only imagine how challenging it must be for those who are blind, as the unintended words can lead to negative reactions from others, especially when dealing with expressive dyslexia.
Unacceptable Experience, ⭐☆☆☆☆
I had a very negative encounter with the service. It downloaded and installed itself on my laptop without my consent, which is simply not acceptable. I value my privacy and control over my own device, and this situation made me feel uneasy and insecure. Software should never install itself without explicit permission. Because of this, I do not trust the service and would not suggest it to others.
Caution Required! My child encountered marketing on her school computer, leading to a surprising $500 bill. The pricing structure is unclear, and children may believe they are signing up for a free service or a $12 charge after the trial. I was shocked by the $500 charge and am uncertain about its purpose.
Grammarly has just delivered one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever dealt with. They charged me for a full 12-month subscription, even though I cancelled my membership a year ago. When I contacted support, they admitted the mistake, cancelled the subscription, and promised me a refund within 2–10 business days. I also asked for written confirmation — they told me I’d receive it.Of course, nothing arrived. And now? Their chat support is doing everything it can to pretend none of that ever happened. It keeps telling me I “don’t have a subscription” and trying to blame it on me forgetting my login. What a joke.So let’s get this straight:You remember my payment details well enough to bill me without permission, but when it comes to actually fixing your error, suddenly the system “can’t find anything”? Convenient. The customer service is absolutely pathetic — scripted replies, no record of prior conversations, no accountability, and complete refusal to address the actual issue. Instead of helping, they sent me a useless generic help link like I’m the one who messed up.At this stage, the only part of this company that seems to run properly is the part that takes your money. If you value your time, money, or sanity, avoid Grammarly. I’m now preparing to lodge a chargeback with my bank because it’s clearly the only way to get them to deal with their own screw-up.Embarrassing company. Embarrassing service.
