My friend's apartment building caught fire by contractors who were on the roof on September 14th. 8 days ago. It was significant and tenants had to leave with the clothes on their back. It displaced at least 14 families. There has been such little communication in regards to what is happening as far as tenants being able to access their apartments to see whether anything can be salvaged as well as to ask other questions. They can't even gain access to take insurance photos which is delaying everything. I get that some units it may be unsafe, but communicate that. Many have lost everything they own. Basically it's been crickets. They were very eager in wanting to relocate them in an apartment on the property, so that they wouldn't lose the income though. The apartments affected have since been boarded up and those tenants still don't know what's going on. I hope this week, Greystar management steps up and contacts these people, so they don't feel stalled and lost. It's been very sad to watch those I care about go through this and a lot of tears have been shed. I don't really even fault the business office as I am sure the "lack of" attention to this matter is coming from the top. They seem as lost as the tenants are.
