zero star, I was booking directly with Argyll Guest house in Glasgow, is what I thought, for a night within my budget, just a £1 less than another hotel on the same street where I will stay the week before, after giving my CC details the confirmation arrived with an extra £20, immediately contacted them back that I could not afford the £60 plus they charged me, sent 5 emails within 30 minutes with not response, when I realised that it was an independent travel company and not the hotel, I resigned myself that I been scammed and needed confirmation from the hotel that a booking has been made, they blocked my email and the hotel is not answering e-mails either, I refused to call to avoid further costs, but I am furious, there are reputable agencies I could book with, but I been told twice by hotels that booking directly with them save them money and that was I was doing, although the week before I am staying in a hotel where Agoda was cheaper than the hotel directly. If Argyll Guest House is letting an agency to intercept bookings or no, I feel I might have been scammed of £60 +, as a frequent traveller on a pension, I have never pay more than £45 anywhere, and Glasgow always been a place easy to find accommodation for no more than that.
