I had a terrible first-time experience with guns.com, and I recommend you steer clear & shop local. In January, I ordered a Ruger P89. A few things should have been made clear up front, that were not. You are not buying from guns.com when you are buying a used gun, you are buying from an unknown dealer. Neither that dealer nor guns.com will take responsibility when things go wrong. Second, you will be paying for your local gun shop to run the background check. This is in the FAQs on the site, but isn't clear when ordering. In my case, the wrong gun was sent. I picked it up at the local gun shop that it was shipped to. They were great, but when I got it home I saw it was not the gun I ordered, but the very similar P95. I contacted guns.com and asked them to send the correct gun to the local gun shop, and I would swap with them. They refused, and sent a packing label to send the gun back. Since the magazines were as shown in the picture, and interchangeable between the two guns, I assumed I could send just the gun, and they would return the correct gun. This turned out to be incorrect, so after waiting a week or so to see what the holdup was, I called guns.com and they let me know I had to send the magazines as well. It took them several more days and me calling them again to issue a label for that return. After I sent the magazines back, I didn't hear anything, so after two more weeks, I called them, and they said they would look into it and get back to me that day. Of course that didn't happen, so I called the next week, and they said finally the gun was shipped & had arrived at my gun shop that day. Overall, it took 10 calls to guns.com, almost 2 months, and two separate transfer charges (which guns.com will not reimburse for) to get the gun.
