Always starts well with a few years of steady returns and then nothing but excuses as to why they can’t pay, yet throughout always trying to entice new investors with exciting exit strategies. Personally I and a good friend invested over 11 years ago and we are fairly smart usually about what we invest in and did our due diligence but you rely on the other party to be completely transparent about their financial situation. Contracts have long since been broken and we’ve all had the many many excuses why they’ve broken these contracts and as of today I’ve still not received any exit return and they are way behind on yearly rentals. For all of the many investors out there who’ve lost money with HDG, halcyon retreat, barrasford and bird or whoever they morph into to keep the show on the road the only clear path I suggest is to bring us all together and ensure that this new ‘alleged’ new finance company is fully aware of the current situation. It’s been explained to me that they are fully aware of ‘the good, the bad and the ugly ‘ in the accounts but I am sceptical of this. Do your research and make sure you all continually post about your ongoing experiences, don’t forget there is local media in France and also a number of bodies to contact in the uk to raise your grievance, see an earlier post of mine with advice on who to contact. City of London police is a good starter (they deal with financial complaints on behalf of other regions). DO NOT just post once and forget l, this is ongoing and you are entitled to post updates on your ongoing experience as we all have a duty of care to the ones that follow behind us looking to invest.
