This company has demonstrated a clear incompetence when it comes to recognising vintage bags from the 1990s, a time when serial numbers were not yet standard practice. They carefully reviewed the photos of my three bags and read the full description, which explicitly mentioned this detail, yet they still proceeded to make me an offer, and encouraged me to ship my goods. After I shipped the bags, I was informed that they could not authenticate them and am now being asked to pay £40 + £14.95 PER BAG, for a total of £164.85 to have them returned — purely because of their inability to properly assess vintage items. If they do not accept 1990s bags without serial numbers, why did they make an offer? Why did they show interest and encouraged me to proceed with the shipping? The photos and the detailed description I provided, accurately represent in good faith exactly what they received. Why should I be charged, since I did not provide any false information? Where is my fault? It feels as though the decision to reject them have been made from the beginning, in order to charge me this ridiculous greedy fee, just to get my own bags back!My aunt was a collector of Gucci, and I inherited several of these bags from her. Thankfully, I only sent them three. If they are unable to do their job, it's their responsibility, not mine. They should declare themselves unable to authenticate, say sorry, and return the bags to me, or allow free pick up. This does not end here for sure. And I strongly advise others to avoid them at all cost, and consider alternative platforms such as Vestiaire Collective, Hardly Ever Worn It (HEWI), Depop, or Vinted , way more honest and with a clearer policy.
