Misrah Simar complex, Qala, Gozo, Malta sept24 host- Mickael

September 24 my husband and i booked to stay in an apartment in a complex I had stayed in with my daughter 8 years ago, thinking it would be as good as the 1st time. The complex itself upon arrival immediately looked different. Refuse all over the pavement outside, dirty hallways unkempt look.On entering the apartment at Misrah Simar complex, Gozo,Malta, hosted by Mickael we were met with an overwhelming mouldy smell. The floors were dirty and covered (throughout the whole apartment) with long black hair. When we entered the kitchen/loving area we were met with a wall, where the air conditioning unit was, that was covered I. Black mould and damp peeling plaster. The furnishings were very old and filthy with dust and even cobwebs and soft furnishings were worse for wear, stained and no padding left.i put my finger over the surfaces making marks,the dust was of weeks not cleaning! The light fittings were hanging off the walls, plug sockets loose and the oven was grim and didn't work properly. There was clutter in cupboards including a cupboard door that had been ripped out)with no repair) from the kitchen to make a gap for a washer. The dining room table was full of stains and grease. The kitchen itself had had a wipe but was still dirty with crumbs all over. The sink stank and on inspection beneath the plumbing was taped up but still leaking with a bucket yo catch the water. Dirty inside the cupboards with filthy cloths left and the living room cupboards doors broken a s hanging off.Bathros were not cleaned well and mould present in shower. Bed linen old but clean but on closer inspection under covers the pillows were brown with stains. Mattresses old and hard. Outside patio area had old Dirty stained furniture and litter. No parasol or sunbeds. The pool was Dirty and teaming with dead ants. When we told the host over the phone he blamed the cleaning team who he called and they returned to the apartmemt. We told the supervisor it was more than just the cleaning. The host had at first said he would get the tram back the next day and we explained we would not stay as it was unfit all round and after him trying to make us stay we refused and demanded a refund. We left with the supervisor and he returned the team to their homesHe then kindly met us afterwards to help arrange new accompdation. We had booked this particular apartment for 9 nights and a further 5 nights in another aprtment to complete a 14 night stay in Gozo so we contacted the host of the latter and they very kindly found us an alternative apartment amd also extended our stay in the apartment already booked.Both were not with Happy Rentals & were absolutely stunning! When I reviewed the Misrah Simar apartment Mickael lied on his answer saying the cleaning team turned the apartment around I'm an hour and we were issued a partial refund. We know this isn't true because we left with the team and the supervisor as stated above met is within half an hour and we demand a full refund ro pay for alternative accommodation.I suffer within food Intollerences, IBS and anxiety and left the apartment in tears as I had taken my husband here expecting our 1st holiday together in 28 years to be like the honeymoon we've never had. I fell ill as I hadn't eaten all day as I have to be extremely careful what I eat and we had hoped to get to the apartment and go to Greens in Victoria (main Gozo) for suppliesWe didn't get to our new accommodation until around 9.30 pm so I was unable to eat until 11pm after leaving Bristol airport at 6am.I stayed in bed for the first two days drained and ill. We decided to for go our planned excursions of scuba diving and boat trips to stay for an extra 3 nights to make up for missing out. Thank fully our stay in the other apartments was what we'd hoped for. We will never book with Happy Rentals or Mickael (especially) ever again!!!
