I started as a complete beginner, unable to play a single thing, and now I’m confidently jamming along with a backing track —playing single notes, chords, blues, and even well-known tunes. The progress I’ve made genuinely surprised me. On top of that, the community is fantastic: a really positive, supportive, and safe space with loads of opportunities to give and receive encouraging, helpful feedback. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

Ben Hewlett’ programme

I joined Ben’s programme about 3 years ago as a complete novice. My initial goal was to learn to play so that we could add to our then ukulele group’s songs by adding some harmonica introductions etc. However as you get more involved you cannot help wanting to progress further in a great community. Ben’s material is first class and my experience of 1-1 sessions with Ben is that he has an amazing ability to assess where you are and what you need to do to progress your journey further. Highly recommended.

Ben's teaching style is incredibly clear, patient, and encouraging, which made a huge difference in my progress and confidence.Ben explains techniques in a way that’s easy to understand, whether it’s breathing control, bending notes, tone improvement, or learning songs. Every part of the harmonica mastery program feels well written organized and tailored to every student's skill level, and Ben always take the time to make sure I truly understand before moving forward.What really sets Ben apart is their passion for the harmonica and music and his ability to motivate. also the rest of the students on the program make learning enjoyable while it can still challenge you to improve and succeed in becoming a better player. I completed Ben Hewlett's 90-day… and still playing more than a year later!

I completed Ben Hewlett's 90-day harmonica mastery program some months back, having had absolutely no experience with any musical instrument or even singing before It was a program that was very easy to follow, fun to participate in and had different methodologies to help me improve. Ben was available on Zoom sessions three to four times a week, where he asked how I, and others, were doing, there was a Facebook group where I posted a one-minute video of how I was coming along with my harmonica each day for 90 days - we all commented on one another's videos which really helped us know how we were doing. It was all very motivating and helpful. There were also other events like open mics and guest appearances (I don't want to spoil it by revealing all!) which were really fantastic. The community / fellow students have become good friends and I am still involved, more than a year later. You can't find a better teacher than Ben, a man who gives of himself to his students, is abundant in his advice and help and has a wicked sense of humour. I can honestly say that we, his students, really enjoy ourselves whilst learning how to play the harmonica. A life changing experience! Oh, and I had breathing difficulties and the harmonica helped that too.
