We made an appointment at our nearest Superdrug store to discuss additional ( non NHS) vaccinations for a trip to Sri Lanka. It was easy to book on line and we were very pleased to have had the consultation. The nurse we saw was very professional and spent time looking at the various places we would be staying and risks in specific locations at the time of travel. We felt very much at ease after the visit and are hoping to get the vaccinations when they are in stock as we left plenty of time.
i was looking to book my second Hep B injection, first injection was at A&E. i called the Superdrug contact number and explained it is my second dose due to being in contact with a used needle. Advisor said that’s fine so I booked the appointment at Superdrug Birmingham Union street. Took time off work – I met a nurse who was lovely, she stated she cannot give me the injection as I am post exposure. I was advised incorrectly over the phone. I am so frustrated as I had to travel to Birmingham, and I still do not have my second injection as the advisor o the phone did not do her job accordingly.
I attended my original appointment (which happened to be directly after an unexpected trip to a&e and some stitches) so as to avoid any cancellation/ rescheduling fees and was told to come back another day, to let my body rest, and I’d be charged nothing for rescheduling. I have a phobia of needles and was quite shaken by my trip to a&e but I was instantly put at ease by the lovely nurse. We were laughing and joking while she was explaining the vaccines I’d need and the actual vaccination was over in seconds. Can’t recommend enough, definitely the best experience I’ve ever had with needles.
