Absolutely appalling experience with Hertz. We were forced to pay a cancellation fee that was more than the cost of the rental itself — all due to a paperwork error. What makes this worse is that the staff at both the Melbourne Airport and CBD offices were rude, arrogant, and completely unhelpful.Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed us for “neglect” even though I later discovered that their staff actually have the ability to alter the paperwork themselves. It felt like we were being taken advantage of at every step.On top of that, when we had no choice but to proceed, the hire rate was excessive compared to competitors. The entire process left us feeling cheated and disrespected.I would strongly advise anyone considering Hertz to look elsewhere — both for fair pricing and for basic decency in customer service.
