I'm truly having the worst time dealing with Hertz post-accident. They keep getting my information wrong and requesting things incorrectly (for example, they now claim that I rented the car through a third-party insurer when I do not have a third-party insurer). One of their employees will say one thing, another will say something completely different. They are incompetent. You'd think this process would be streamlined given that it is their literal day-in, day-out job. On top of not knowing anything, they also just refer any questions you have to other people (who also unsurprisingly, do not know anything). I still don't know what I could financially be liable for, despite paying for a $0 excess, as none of them can confirm that this applies wholly to my situation (which is an extremely straightforward and minor accident). Steer clear of them as a rental company.
