I hired a SUV from Hertz in Melbourne Airport. I stupidly refilled it with the wrong fuel half way through the 2 week hire period. I notice straight away and didn't drive the vehicle. It was in a service station 10mins drive from the airport. I called hertz and they arranged to recover the vehicle.I knew this was going to cost me, but I was stunned when, two weeks later, Hertz took AUS$1242 from my credit card! I was sent an invoice detailing the charge:ACCIDENT DAMAGE EXCESS 450.00 GFUEL & SERVICE 306.48 G LOCATION FEE 153.44 G ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE 150.00 G CLAIMS PROCESSING FEES 55.00 G CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE 15.05 G GST 113.00 Total 1242.97 AUDEfforts to get an explanation of the charges have proved fruitless.I know I was at fault but didn't expect to get shafted for it!
