This company likes to add on charges for damage that wasn't done. When asked to produce photos are repair invoices they smugly refuse. They rely on a clause in the contract that says you have to get the car checked in. On this occasion, the airport car park was being overrun with building contractors and no Hertz staff could be found. We were walking to the terminal (Palma) when we saw a Hertz employee, who rudely told us to go back and wait. By this time we couldn't as we were now running late and so we couldn't. The employee as good as said, if you don't go back don't be surprised if you get surcharged. I think she surcharged us as punishment for not waiting. When we complained we were ignored for 3 months and then when we started making this public, we got a terse answer saying it was our responsibility to wait for their non-existent staff. Since going through this I have heard of many others with the same problem. If Hertz are reading this, you may have made a sneaky £150. But you have lost so much more in actual cash and goodwill. Shame on you
