Second review 14Dec25:Since my first review, I had some very rewarding conversations with Aktiia Support, and now have a better understand of how to manage the calibrations and readings.BTW, I didn't mention last review that one time that I was having a lot of trouble with calibration, I realised that I had the cuff on upside down, and once I put it on correctly, it worked much better (read the instructions! :) ).I now take an Omron reading before and after the Hilo calibration, and it they do not agree, then I repeat the process until I have good agreement between them. The Omron can give inconsistent readings too; the physiology is in constant flux.I plan on calibrating more often than prompted by the software, probably every 1-2 weeks.I also know now how to take a one-off reading following conversations with Support.I am really impressed with this device and think it will be really valuable to monitor and record my blood pressure over time. It's wonderful to have continuous BP monitoring and being able to assess stability of BP, but the calibration is a bit +/-. It can shift up & down from cal to cal and there is only so-so agreement with the Omron readings that I take when I cal the Hilo - one cal, the omron will be about 10 higher and next cal, Hilo will jump up but will then be ~ 10 higher than the Omron. eg: cal result Hilo 124/70, Omron 135/75; next cal Hilo 147/79, Omron 140/67. With time, the Hilo cals may stabilise with more history and get closer to the Omron so I will continue to track. Another thing, I can't see a cal report anywhere that says what the data are and how the cal has been adjusted, and there is no indication on the graphs where a cal has been done to relate to the ups & downs. I am Medical Scientist so I think it is important to be able to access this info and move away from black box scenario. Thanks.
