The averages are misleading, the device measures only when the arm is still, so there is many more single measures during night or resting time when blood pressure is lower. Although the device distinguishes between day and night averages, it may lead to the overall impression of a blood pressure lower than it actually is. Not comparable to a 24 hour test, where measurements take place regularly in the midst of physical effort, for example, providing a more reliable overall picture.
