It has been a life saver for me. I have a smallish frame with big arms. 24 hour ambulatory bp cuffs would not fit me well..the cuff would slip down the narrow part of my arm. The automatic machines would scare me so much as they would keep pumping three times because it could not get a reading leaving me hand numb and fingers blue and then getting a high reading which I knew was not representative of my normal blood pressure. The whole ordeal of getting a proper reading average for the doctor over a period of many years became so stressful that my body had a conditioned response of an elevated blood pressure Everytime I attempted to get a reading, both myself and initially at the doctor's office. The readings were either white coat syndrome or it would tip towards masked syndrome. The elevated numbers would prompt doctors to want to increase medication, contrary to what I was feeling that I didn't think my blood pressure was high all the time, but just couldn't get the reading to prove it. My other specialist got two normal readings and could not justify an increase in dose. The aktiia bracelet is non invasive. I don't even remember that it's there. It feels like a wrist watch . For the first time in over 10 years I have good readings ..readings that feel more accurate ...readings that are consistent with how I feel, and the patterns I had observed with my body. For the first time I have a whole bunch of day and night readings that can now tell the true picture. I looked at several wrist watches that pump air to get these readings but the conditioned response would deter me from getting a true reading.
