At first, Hire-a-Hubby looked promising, but the experience quickly turned disappointing. Requiring 25% upfront felt a little steep, but what really annoyed me was being asked for a progress payment on the very first day of work. The bigger issue, though, was reliability—or rather, the lack of it. There were more cancellations than actual workdays, and not once did they complete a full day on site. Cancellations were often communicated with flimsy excuses hours after the fact, and sometimes with no notice at all. I lost count of the excuses—they seemed endless. What’s worse, they wanted to move on to new jobs before even finishing mine. That lack of follow-through and accountability left me feeling like my project was never a priority. Now I have to find someone else to finish the job.Overall, I would not recommend based on my experience. If reliability, consistency, and professionalism matter to you, run, run, run!
