It was a great TV, the operative word being WAS. Which was not a word you could use to describe this TV.
Don't get me wrong, I really really liked it. I was so pleased I'd chosen it. I couldn't fault it. Lured into a false sense of security, i didn't realise a whole 2 years had passed since it had taken it's pride of place in my living room. I should probably mention that I am disabled and a gamer, so my TV probably means more to me than some, it was a large investment for me at the time, hence it's large place in my life. Then, the unthinkable happened! One morning I woke, turned on my beloved TV. And nothing. It refused to emerge from stand by. I tried all the recommended ways to revive it. I stroked it, I cried at it, I begged it, but alas,my precious viewing screen, had screened it's last.
Had only I known those last moments before I retired the night before, were the last, I could have treasured them. But sadly, it was too late. After an appropriate amount of mourning, I went to retrieve it's birth certificate etc, to hopefully get it restored to its former glory.
And then, I discovered to my horror, it had past two years old, by a whole 2 and a half months!!!
2 months past it's date to purchase an extended warranty. Which I had not realised had passed.
So as much as I loved my darling TV, I cannot really recommend it, with such a short lived life span. I have tins of beans in my cupboard that are older than that, and they are still going strong, with years left in front of them. Possibly it should come with the nickname the "may fly" in honour of it's pitiful longevity.
I am now going to spend an unspecified amount of time, trying to decide which make of TV to replace the fallen one. Which will invariably involve vast amounts of open tabs, comparisons across features that I don't quite know what they do, a bottle of wine or two, some painkillers, and lots of strong coffee. Keeping everything crossed that whichever I chose, it lasts a lot longer!
