I spent weeks looking through rings online to get ideas for my own custom engagement ring. A colleague of my fiance got engaged at the same time we did and recommended HK. I was amazed by all the custom beautiful rings and jewellery on their website. Very unique and so much variety. No other jewellers impressed me quite so much from looking through loads of different websites.I was a bit nervous about actually making the appointment and how pricing might turn out, but they do have some designs available to buy shown online which gave an indication on potential pricing.Booking the appointment was very easy over email. I got quick replies even though it was during Xmas holiday period. I described my initial preferences of metal type and gem colours which I hoped to see during the appointment.At the in person appointment at the London Primrose Hill store I showed the designer photos of 2 rings that I had seen from other companies which I wanted to include elements from in my design. With some more nature and floral ring designs from HK website to help.Dani helped to create a sketch of the ring design with the various elements I was hoping for and gave suggestions for slight variations as well. She had several rings that I was able to try on to be able to compare against my skin tone, how different size gems and ring sizes would look on my hand. I got to look through a range of gems they had in stock and compared those against metal colours and my skin tone.Dani did not try to push any particular designs or styles on me, only helped to guide my own design ideas and then complete any other factors I hadn't thought of beforehand. She was able to answer many questions we both had about the design and creation process. We were given a few options at the end of the design process which would have allowed slightly different pricing ranges. For example she showed us both platinum and palladium as metal options, and either would have worked well. She didn't try to upsell us, only presented options that would be close to the specifications I asked for.We didn't ask for a priority service with a particular deadline, so we were advised that it would take 2-2.5 months time to have the ring made and be ready. We received 2 or 3 emails during the wait to advise which stage the ring was at. I also asked for the ring drawing to be emailed to me which was quickly sent.On the day we went to collect the ring, it was a bit last minute but we rushed to the store without a specific appointment time, this was no issue. My ring looks even more beautiful in reality than the drawing and the CAD. I am so impressed with the craftsmanship of my ring and how my design was brought to life. We were both extremely happy with the service from Dani and those who created the ring itself.
