I am writing this to warn every traveler about Holiday Autos' faulty booking system and their absolute lack of responsibility. I booked a one-way rental from Melbourne to Cairns (Booking AU155614450). Their system allowed, confirmed, and charged me for this route.
Upon arrival, it turned out that their partner, East Coast Car Rentals, does not even support this route. Because of Holiday Autos' technical failure, I was forced to drive 3,500 km back across Australia under life-threatening conditions (massive floods and bushfires) just to return the car. This ruined my entire holiday, caused extreme stress, and resulted in significant financial losses (lost flights, extra fuel, and rental extension fees).
Despite providing clear evidence of their system error, Customer Care (Case 03073636, agent A**) continues to send scripted, ignorant responses, refusing to take any responsibility for selling a non-existent service. This is a scam and a violation of consumer rights. I am now initiating a credit card chargeback through my bank and reporting the case to the European Consumer Centre (ECC).
Avoid this company at all costs – their IT system is broken, and their support is non-existent when things go wrong.
