I am writing this to warn every traveler about Holiday Autos' faulty booking system and their absolute lack of responsibility. I booked a one-way rental from Melbourne to Cairns (Booking AU155614450). Their system allowed, confirmed, and charged me for this route.
Upon arrival, it turned out that their partner, East Coast Car Rentals, does not even support this route. Because of Holiday Autos' technical failure, I was forced to drive 3,500 km back across Australia under life-threatening conditions (massive floods and bushfires) just to return the car. This ruined my entire holiday, caused extreme stress, and resulted in significant financial losses (lost flights, extra fuel, and rental extension fees).
Despite providing clear evidence of their system error, Customer Care (Case 03073636, agent A**) continues to send scripted, ignorant responses, refusing to take any responsibility for selling a non-existent service. This is a scam and a violation of consumer rights. I am now initiating a credit card chargeback through my bank and reporting the case to the European Consumer Centre (ECC).
Avoid this company at all costs – their IT system is broken, and their support is non-existent when things go wrong.
Absolutely useless, fraud, innocent people money thieves are the miner words to describe this company oh yes not to forget their crime partners green motions car rental company. These two companies I will never ever book a rental car with in my remaining life.

This company is utterly disappointing. Unprofessional, deceitful, and a total waste of time. I was treated poorly, misled, and received no genuine assistance. Upon arriving to pick up a vehicle I had already reserved and paid for, I was informed at the counter that cash payment was required, a detail that was never disclosed during the booking process. When I declined to pay in cash, they outright refused to provide me with the car.
Result: No vehicle, no service, and no solutions offered. To make matters worse, I later received payment requests as if I had actually rented a car — which is completely unacceptable. I did not receive a vehicle and did not utilize any service. Customer support is a complete mess: • Emails remain unanswered for weeks • Different departments provide conflicting information • Cases are closed without resolution • No accountability whatsoever This service wastes customers’ time, creates unnecessary stress, and operates in a highly unprofessional manner. If you value transparency, honesty, and basic respect as a customer — steer clear. I highly advise opting for any other rental service. This one is simply not worth the risk.
I used the service happily for years. I booked a car for the new year, but after they took my payment, I was informed that it wasn't available and they tried to charge me more for a so-called "requested upgrade"—what request? I canceled for a refund 30 days before the booking (I have screenshot evidence), and now, 20 days later, there’s still no refund, and I'm told I need to cancel the booking myself. It feels like a tactic to delay and then claim it's too late for a refund. My last option is to have the credit card company reverse the transaction. Proceed with caution.
Avoid this service. I made a prepaid booking but was not given a vehicle. Upon arrival for pickup, unexpected conditions and extra charges were suddenly requested, and despite having paid upfront, I was denied the car.
