Samsung 50 inch TV accidentally knock off TV Table when pulled out to retrieve my grandchild toy. Im not able to kneel down due to knee replacment so reason it was pulled out.Turned round and knock TV over onto carpet....No external damage as managed to break the fall holding onto one of the legs. But unfortuantly something internal had failed and the TV wouldn't work meaning no picture at all.Call Halifax insurance's and I was asked to complete a form and include photos or a Video...well added a photo but rejected as this didn't show anything other than a blank TV screen so tried to upload a video but struggled with that as to large to upload 20 second video I personally found this to hard to do. TV collected by electrical engineers I was told they are not to investigate the TV operation in my home or on my propery it had to be taken away for inspection yet this was ignored and they plugged TV in and tried to get it working but failed to. Few days later they called me to say it was down to wear an tear and not covered under acidental damage and samsung would cover this under warranty normally but its a year out of warranty? . If it was under warranty and I admitted truthfully it had been knock off the table as mentioned the warranty would be void and they would say accidentally damaged so I can't win either way so Halifax home insurance is in my experience this is not fit for purpose...I have the top Gold cover new for old? I tried to fully cover myself but it doesn't work when you need it.I have made a complaint but got me no where waist of time .Just to add there was a £100 access and told more than once this might affect my insurance renewal... just to scare me off making the claim.
