I am a member of homeexchange with 8 badges meaning quite good high reputation of hosting and guesting since 2018 nearly 10 whole years. Since this couple days I had a very good experience but now I cannot tell the same. My issue is mainly with company people reaching ( not being able to at a very urgent situation not having a phone number to reach them and also their reimbursement policy) I recently had a cancellation from my host that we decided back in august. My travel is to Maui Hawaii and all my plans are upside down now. I just received an auto email from homeexchange stating they will find me another homeexchamge if they cannot find they will reimburse nightly 120 usd!!! This amount is ridicilous for Maui as you might guess! On top, for 5 days now- 3 business days if not counted weekend I am trying so hard to reach someone but no way! I left twice messages to voluntary people on chat to let them know, noone yet contacted me. I tried my best so far to also find another exchange but no luck. So this homeexchange will lose me I think by the end of this year’s membership, I am not renewing and trashing my tons of guest points, although I had so many lovely encounters from all over through here I had a chance to meet them we crossed by days; and have been a perfect host and guest unfortunately as a company gets larger things are not the same. So I wanted leave these comments..
